Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a fence company?

No. This website is a free referral service, not a contractor. We don't build or repair fences ourselves. When you submit a request, we forward it to an independent fence contractor serving the Amarillo area, who contacts you directly and gives you their own quote.

Does it cost anything to request a quote?

No. Submitting a request is free and there's no obligation to hire anyone. Any price you agree to is between you and the contractor.

Who will contact me?

One independent local fence contractor. We don't sell your request to a list of companies. See our privacy page for details.

Do I need a permit for a fence in Amarillo?

City of Amarillo Building Safety says most residential fences 8 feet tall or less don't need a permit, but they must still meet zoning height limits (which differ for front and rear yards and corner lots). A permit is always required for a swimming pool or spa barrier. Call Building Safety at 806-378-3041 to confirm for your lot, and check any HOA rules.

How much does a new fence cost?

It depends mostly on the length, height, material, gates and how much old fence has to be removed. We don't publish prices because they vary by property; the contractor will measure and quote your yard.

Who pays for a fence between neighbors?

That's between you and your neighbor. Many people split the cost of a shared fence, but get any agreement in writing and confirm the property line first.

Should I call 811 before digging fence posts?

Yes. Texas law requires notifying Texas811 before digging. Most fence contractors make the call for you; ask yours to confirm.

Do you serve areas outside Amarillo?

Requests from Amarillo and nearby areas, including Canyon, are welcome. Enter your ZIP code and the contractor will confirm whether they can serve your property.
